Who I work with.

Small businesses, agency teams and product founders. One experienced developer, personally involved.

Hi, I’m Gary.
Curiosity comes standard.

A team of one. A developer, a maker, and your point of contact from start to finish.

iSyntax is me, Gary. I get to know your business, build your website and answer your questions. Quite a few job titles. Fortunately, only one person to get hold of.

I’ve been building websites for over 20 years. These days, Laravel is usually at the heart of my work, with HTML, CSS and JavaScript bringing it to life.

I’m based in Yeovil, Somerset, and work remotely with people everywhere. Nearby? We can talk things through in person. Sometimes a good conversation is where the best ideas begin.

A little more about me

YEOVIL / SOMERSET / DORSET / EVERYWHERE

Local roots.
Far-reaching ideas.

From a business around the corner to an idea on the other side of the country. I’m based in Yeovil, building websites across Somerset, Dorset and beyond.

From “what if”
to out in the world.

Start with a conversation.

Tell me about your business, your customers and what you need. An idea is enough to start. A 40-page specification is entirely optional.

Give the idea a direction.

We work out what to build, what it will cost and what happens next. Surprises are better left to birthday parties.

Make every detail count.

I design, build and test, with your feedback along the way. Then your idea gets to leave the notebook and meet the internet.

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Do I need to be based in Somerset?

Not at all. I’m based in Yeovil, but we can work together remotely wherever you are. If an in-person meeting would be useful, we can arrange one locally in Yeovil or the surrounding area.

Can you build both the website and the back end?

Yes. I build front ends in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and server-side systems in PHP, usually with Laravel. That can mean a business website, a customer portal or a complete web application.

How much will my project cost?

It depends on the scope, content and functionality. Tell me what you need, any existing systems and your budget or timescale. We can then agree a clear scope and quote before work starts.

Can you help with an existing website?

Yes. Send me the link and tell me what is bothering you. “It does something strange when I click this” is a perfectly useful place to start. I’ll look at the current setup before recommending a fix, a new feature or a rebuild.

Will the website be ready for search engines?

I consider page structure, mobile usability, performance and technical SEO during the build. Rankings also depend on the quality of your content and the competition; a new website cannot guarantee a particular position in Google.
